FEBRUARY BIRTH FLOWER & GEMSTONE IN UK


Following on from my last blog where I spoke of the January Birth flower and Gemstone, today I will speak of the the lovely Violet Flower and a little bit about the Amethyst Gemstone which represent birthdays in February for those of us in UK

For everyone born in United States it is the lovely Primrose flower which is just as lovely but in this blog I will be reflecting on the Violet flower and Amethyst Gemstone

MEANING OF THE VIOLET FLOWER
Faithfulness, Humility, Chastity, Hope & Wisdom

There is also a hidden meaning to the colour of the violet (yes they can come in other colours other then Violet colour)


If you are given a Violet in colour flower it means: I will always be true



If given a White or Cream Violet: Lets take a chance


 Other colours of violets are: Blue, Yellow, Cream/White, Violet







 OTHER INTERESTING USES FOR VIOLET FLOWERS

These cute flowers are not only given as gifts for birthdays in February perhaps for a new birth, but also combined within Wedding Bouquets as well as being given as gifts for other special occasions like Valentines Day

  • I've heard that Violets are edible and can be used in garnishes but have never tried this myself so more research may be needed before you try this (ALTHOUGH FOR ME, I love the flowers as they are)

  • PANSIES are also known as Violas/Violets

  • The Violet Flower originates from South Africa

  • Violets are also known as Viola a five petaled flower with petals that have a heart shape formation


MEANING OF THE AMETHYST GEMSTONE
A calming gemstone which symbolises: calm, peace, happiness, protection and patience, Amethyst is also known to be lucky
